History-making Gen3 Camaros placed on display

THREE history-making Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro Supercars have found temporary post-season homes where they can be viewed by the public.

Erebus Motorsport has placed Brodie Kostecki’s championship-winning Coca-Cola Camaro at Heritage Auto Group at Lilydale in Melbourne’s outer north-east.

Dubbed EM05, the car won six races and scored 10 pole positions in Kostecki’s hands on the way to the drivers’ title.

Erebus is expected to retire the car from racing duties following its string of success.

EM05 sits at Heritage Auto Group, which sells GMSV and SsangYong vehicles, still wearing some of the confetti from celebrations at the Adelaide 500.

Meanwhile, the Camaros that scored maiden Supercars Championship race wins for Team 18 and Matt Stone Racing during 2023 are also spending Christmas inside car dealerships.

The #18 Mark Winterbottom Chevrolet is on display at Barry Bourke Motors in Berwick, Melbourne, while the #34 Jack Le Brocq car features at Village Motors in North Lakes, Queensland.

Both milestone victories occurred at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway in June.

Winterbottom’s win for Team 18 also broke a long drought for the driver that stretched back to November of 2016.

MSR’s first victory came through Le Brocq, who joins Erebus Motorsport in 2024 to replace the Triple Eight-bound Will Brown.

Le Brocq is set to be replaced at MSR by Walkinshaw Andretti United outcast Nick Percat, while the Queensland-based squad will also have a new look in 2024 thanks to a major sponsorship change.

Despite their victories, Le Brocq and Winterbottom both missed out on top 10 championship positions, ending the season 12th and 15th respectively.
