•Wyandotte police report that a 2022 Ford F-350 was stolen off a car dealer’s lot in the 3600 block of Fort Street during the overnight hours of Dec. 3. The unoccupied truck was recovered in Oak Park on Dec. 6.
•While a stolen bike seems like a relatively minor crime, it was much more than that for a man who used the bicycle as his main means of transportation.
The theft was reported at 12:40 a.m. on Dec. 9, in the 1100 block of Ford Avenue. A man who doesn’t drive and depends on his bicycle to get around was visiting a convenience store. Police said the man is a “regular” at the store and remained inside for approximately 30 minutes, having a conversation with the store clerk.
When the 47-year-old Wyandotte resident left the store, he was devastated to find that someone stole his bike, described as a gray/silver Huffy Beach Cruiser.
•An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of 11th Street Dec. 9 regarding a larceny from auto that took place overnight.
The victim, a 33-year-old Wyandotte woman, told the officer that someone entered her unlocked car and stole her wallet. The wallet contained her Social Security card, driver’s license and bank cards. The thief also stole a set of keys, including her house key.
Police said the woman stated that she never locks her car.
•Police arrested a 24-year-old Southgate man shortly after 1 a.m. Dec. 10 on Eighth Street, near Ford Avenue. He was charged with possession of cocaine and providing false information to police. He also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest out of 27th District Court in Wyandotte.
