FABIAN Coulthard and his family have emerged as among those to be “horrendously smashed” by the shocking Christmas storms that pounded the Gold Coast.
The 13-time Supercars Championship race winner provided an update via his Instagram story late last night, in a message appearing to have been written by partner Becky Lamb.
Several suburbs at the northern end of the Gold Coast were hit hard by cyclonic conditions on the night of December 25.
“There are plenty worse off than us. Lucky to be alive,” the Coulthard post read, in part.
“Our new house is inhabitable (sic). We are obviously devastated and overwhelmed.
“We have no food, reception or power but we are safe and we will rebuild.
“We have so many incredible friends and are so grateful for everyone’s thoughts and care.”
Coulthard, 41, has raced for Walkinshaw Andretti United in the past two endurance seasons. He is yet to have a co-drive announced for next year.
