OVERTURNED FUEL TRUCK CAUSES CLOSURE ON HIGHWAY 105 IN WASHINGTON CO. – KWHI.com

  

Update @ 4:25 p.m.: DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz reports that the roadway is back open as of approximately 4 p.m.

Authorities are at the scene of an accident involving an overturned 18-wheeler fuel transport truck that has closed a portion of Highway 105 between Brenham and Navasota.

The Washington and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Departments responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. to Highway 105 at Sweed Road, where they found a transport truck had overturned onto its right side at the 105 Grocery & Deli.

Firefighters say the cargo area had a small leak, which has been controlled.  No injuries are reported, and there is no immediate danger to the public.

Highway 105 is closed from FM 1155 to FM 912 until further notice.  Law enforcement and emergency management officials are working with cleanup and recovery teams.  The public is asked to avoid the area.
